The Hunger Games

Title: The Hunger Games

About: In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister Primrose, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before — and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love. ( Goodreads.com )

My review: I feel like a hypocrite, I always said  I would never read this book. Anyway, the book wasn't quite my taste, I don't understand why so many people love this book. I liked the book.

Wither

Random Rant: Twilight

Twilight!

Yes Twilight is a book/ movie loved by teenage (and grown up) girls over the world!
Some may call it stupid and others may call it the bestest thing ever invented! I call it an awesome book with okay character which was ruined by the movie biz.
The actors were not the best (sorry guys) but I did think it was cool the first time I saw it (before I had finished the book) so yes.
I read the books in the time between November 2008- May 2009 when in the 5th grade the first real time I enjoyed reading! So I owe Meyers a big thanks for getting me started on reading.
The Twilight saga is good, speaking of sagas I have no idea what that means so here is the definition I found on http://dictionary.reference.com/  SAGA: any narrative or legend of heroic exploits.
See we learn something new every day! Well I have nothing else to say so bye!

My Unfair Godmother

title: My Unfair Godmother

author: Jeannette Rallison

about: Tansy Miller has always felt that her divorced father has never had enough time for her. But mistakenly getting caught on the wrong side of the law wasn't exactly how she wanted to get his attention. Enter Chrysanthemum "Chrissy" Everstar, Tansy's fairy in shining, er, high heels. Chrissy is only a fair godmother, of course, so Tansy's three wishes don't exactly go according to plan. And if bringing Robin Hood to the twenty-first century isn't bad enough for Tansy, being transported back to the Middle Ages to deal with Rumpelstiltskin certainly is. She'll need the help of her blended family, her wits, and especially the cute police chief 's son to stop the gold-spinning story from spinning wildly out of control. Janette Rallison pulls out all the stops in this fresh, fun-filled follow-up to the popular My Fair Godmother.

my review: This book was great! Chrissy's back to stir up trouble! Tansy is stuck in the middle! Along with Hudson, her family and Tansy's son ( from the future) Junior-Stetson- Edward ( yes as in Twilight well the Edward part). This book was hilarious!

Entwined Review

Book: Entwined

Autor: Heather Dixon

About:
Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.
The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.
But there is a cost.
The Keeper likes to keep things.
Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

My Review: This book just reminds me of the saying 'don't judge a book by it's cover.' honestly I think the only reason I wanted to read this book was because I liked the cover. I know it is naive of me, but it is the truth, this book wasn't my favorite I really don;t know if I like it. I honestly the worst part of a book blog is having to rate things I mean I love blogging but I feel if I read a really bad book I should tell you, but what if the author see right? Any way this book was decent a guess if you are obsessive about dancing. That is one thing that bothered me was how Aleza (what ever her name is) is that she is always like "Lets dance this dance! It's not hard! Remember Mother taught it to us!" Or " And a 1,2,3,4" Or so on Even when ( even if she doesn't know it) She is standing right next to and evil dude! Seriously I really did not like Aleza as the main character.
My Rating: (out of 5) 3 and 1/2 this book wasn't half bad if you ignore all the dance refrences (and there are a LOT!)

Red Riding Hood

book: Red Riding Hood

about: The blacksmith would marry her.
The woodcutter would run away with her.
The werewolf would turn her into one of its own.

Valerie's sister was beautiful, kind, and sweet. Now she is dead. Henry, the handsome son of the blacksmith, tries to console Valerie, but her wild heart beats fast for another: the outcast woodcutter, Peter, who offers Valerie another life far from home.

After her sister's violent death, Valerie's world begins to spiral out of control. For generations, the Wolf has been kept at bay with a monthly sacrifice. But now no one is safe. When an expert Wolf hunter arrives, the villagers learn that the creature lives among them--it could be anyone in town.

It soon becomes clear that Valerie is the only one who can hear the voice of the creature. The Wolf says she must surrender herself before the blood moon wanes...or everyone she loves will die.

my review: When I first got this book and I notticed the publisher (Poppy) my first thought was that the publisher was from what I know all most all just realistic fiction aside from the one book (Monster High) so I thought that it would not be a very good book. But as I got into it I relized that this is really a good book, I found my self trying to figure out who the wolf was. But I must say the end does not tell who the wolf is and you then have to go to the website ( redridinghoodbook.com ) and read the endding though I heard the movie does have then ending. I intend on going to see the movie soon.

my raiting: (out of 5) 4 and 1/2 (only because the ending did not tell us who the wolf was.)

Unearthly

Unearthly

Author: Cythia Hand

About: In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

my review: this was a good book I look forwar to the next one which comes out next year I beleve that this is a great book for teens and I would recomend it.

Demonglass

book:Demonglass

Author: Rachel Hawkins

about: Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

my review: This is the  best book I have read since this summer when I read the first book in the series Hex Hall. Over all I just think that the whole serise is wonderful and anyone who likes book with a  ton of abventure needs to read this series. The last few chapters had me on edge and I can't wait to read the next book.

my rating: (out of 5) 5 I loved this book.
